If requested, I assist in the writing of letters to potentially affected staff; attend consultation meetings and ensure the process is conducted efficiently and in compliance with the employer’s contractual obligations and its obligations of good faith.
For employees: I advise employees whether they have grounds to challenge a threatened redundancy situation and, if so, how they might go about it. If requested, I represent the employee at consultation meetings; ensure that the employer complies with its obligations and, if the redundancy is confirmed, I am often asked to negotiate an exit arrangement or package.
